GoDutch Information

Getting a Dutch mobile number as an expat is simple and straightforward with ExpatMobile.nl. Follow these steps to secure your Dutch mobile number.

If you encounter any issues during the process, ExpatMobile offers customer support completely in english. You can reach out to us via email, phone, or our online contact form for assistance.

Easy Sim Only Subscription

Expat Mobile is the only Dutch telecom operator that allows you to order a mobile phone subscription before you arrive in the Netherlands. This way, you can start using your phone immediately upon arrival. No Dutch bank account is required.

Minutes / Messaging for NL, EU and International Usage

Expat Mobile’s GoDutch mobile phone subscriptions offer you 200 unlimited minutes and a choice of 100, 300, or 750 messages per month. You can use these to call or text within the Netherlands and throughout the EU. As an expat, you also receive an additional 100, 300, or 750 minutes or messages each month specifically for calling or messaging home while you’re in the Netherlands. This unique feature sets Expat Mobile apart: calling abroad from the country where the subscription originates is not regulated by tariffs and is usually charged separately at a high rate.

Data for NL and EU Usage

Additionally, you will receive 3000, 10000, or 20000 MB of 4G data for use in the Netherlands and the EU. 3000 MB is sufficient for web browsing, email, and occasional video or audio streaming. For regular audio streaming, we recommend 10000 MB. For regular video streaming, we recommend 20000 MB.

For the Whole Family

With each Expat Mobile account, you can obtain up to four SIM cards, each with a unique mobile number for your family members. These SIM cards can be used for both voice and 4G data.

Flexible Contract

The contract duration can be 3, 6, 12, or 24 months. However, we believe in flexibility: if you leave the Netherlands before your contract ends, simply provide us with a statement from your employer or other legal proof of your permanent departure, and we will terminate your contract at the end of the month at no extra cost.

The Small Print

If you use extra minutes, messages, or megabytes, you will be charged 22 cents per minute, message, or megabyte. We have summarized all tariffs for download/print into one sheet. In compliance with EU legislation, Dutch data/voice/SMS bundles can also be used in the EU. International calls originating in the Netherlands are exempt from this legislation. A Fair Use Policy (FUP) applies to the voice traffic of certain subscriptions. The Fair Use Policy is part of our terms and conditions and stipulates that voice, SMS, and data usage may be up to 10 times the average usage of all our users. The Fair Use Policy ensures that all our customers can use our subscriptions in a normal way. This principle is used by all Dutch providers, although they may not be as transparent about it as we are.
